Led by a vocalist distantly related to English drummer Keith Moon, Smoky Quartz Jazz are a 3-piece jazz band with the sublime combination of vocals, keys and double-bass.
The band throw together jazz standards and mix things up with their own Postmodern Jukebox style take on pop, dance and rock songs. With bold and beautiful vocals, they pay tribute to all the jazz legends, breathing fresh life into classics from Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James and many others.
These cultured jazz artists possess years of musical experience. The group's lead singer has almost a decade of experience alone, while the ensemble's bassist has worked with Ginger Baker and featured on Jazz FM and Radio 6. Naturally, they've been seen at Ronnie Scott's legendary jazz club, The Jazz Cafe and 100 Club in addition to appearing as a wedding band and as corporate event entertainment all over the country. They've played for clients such as Barclays, Southend United FC, Zizzi, and Canary Wharf.
