We’re excited to welcome the rocking and rolling Fat Cats to the Entertainment Nation family! We’re delighted to have these talented boys on the books and thought we’d introduce them in style: with their very own edition of In The Spotlight!
Who are The Fat Cats?
The Fat Cats are a group of incredible musicians – drawn together by their love of Rock and Roll, Pop, Soul and Rock music. With their exciting guitar riffs, impeccable vocals and electric energy, they have become incredibly popular over the last few years. They have an eclectic repertoire of tracks ranging from the 50s and 60s to contemporary chart toppers performed in their own style. The Fat Cat’s mix of old school classics and unique versions of modern hits guarantee that guests of all ages hit the dance floor and don’t stop dancing until the final note! They’re always dressed to impress, and their professional attitude and experience combined with their faultless performance mean that they’re always in high demand. The Fat Cats hail from Northamptonshire but are available for stunning live performances all over the UK.
We had a chat with The Fat Cats boys to get to know them a little better:
Which song is your favourite to perform?
I think our favourite to perform would be Twist and Shout, or King of the Swingers – but Dance With Me Tonight by Olly Murs always goes down well too!
A cool and varied selection there. All of them are favourites at Entertainment Nation HQ; we’re tempted to make a guest appearance on the dance floor at your next booking!
Out of the songs you’ve been asked to learn for a first dance, which is your favourite?
These Arms of Mine by Otis Redding was a really nice choice by one of our clients, but we always enjoy performing At Last by Etta James – that’s always a really popular choice!
Both gorgeous songs. We chose another of Otis Redding’s songs, I Love You More Than Words Can Say, in our blog 20 First Dance Songs You’ve Never Thought Of.
One final song question, which is the song you can always rely on to fill the dance floor?
King of the Swingers always seems to fill the dance floor – it’s just one that every knows, and wants to let their hair down to!
A great choice to encourage some monkey business on the dance floor! (sorry…)
Do you get on with each other all of the time?
Unlike lots of bands, we actually do! We’ve known each other for quite a while. Our taste in music is very similar, and we all have a lot in common!
Who has the most annoying habit (and what is it)?
Our guitarist LOVES a good solo, so sometimes we have to reign him in a little bit, but he just loves the attention!
What’s the best thing about being in a band?
I think the best thing about being in a band is that we get to be a part of lots of people’s parties, weddings, and events, and we’re always meeting new people. Being a special part of someone’s Wedding day, and helping them and their guests to enjoy their day even more is very rewarding!
…and what’s the worst?
The worst part about being in a band is that we sometimes get to miss out on things with family and friends back home, but it’s a small price to pay for being able to do what we love!
What’s the weirdest thing that’s happened to you at a wedding?
We’ve had some interesting first dance requests… but nothing weird just yet!
And finally, the most important question: Buffet or Hog Roast?
Buffet, Buffet, Buffet. We’ve all had enough Hog Roasts to last us a life time!
Wow! Buffet pulls one back to reduce hog roast’s lead to 3-2 in the complimentary food league! For us, an enjoyable buffet all depends on whether you can get to it before the hordes descend, leaving you all fighting over a solitary cold chicken leg!
Huge thanks to The Fat Cats for taking the time to answer our questions! If you’re interested in hiring the services of this rocking and rolling trio, then be sure to check out The Fat Cats’ full profile!
