A gentle November breeze, a bright winter sky and a couple ready to tie the knot. Let’s travel back to the happiest day of Steph and Bertie’s life.
Weddings are all about having everyone together: celebrating with friends and family and making every moment count. Steph and Bertie did just that. You can see from the smiles on faces and dance moves on the dance floor that a marvellous time was had by all of their guests.
Their wedding took place in the charming town of Congleton in Cheshire. Full of quirky buildings and scattered with romantic backdrops for their couple shots, Steph and Bertie’s venue choice was one we most certainly give a big fat yes to!

The Wedding:
The morning of the wedding was lovely and bright, with excitement all around as Steph and her bridal party had their hair and makeup done and put on their gorgeous gowns.
Steph had her hair in a luxuriously loose-styled curly up-do with pearl earrings dangling at the sides. Her natural beauty shone through with her simple but elegant look for her big day. She wore a stunning fishtail dress that was covered head to toe in lace detail and she added a rhinestone belt to finish off. The bridesmaids wore deep red dresses and half-up dos with soft curls.
Everyone was beaming as they all sparkled, ready for the memorable day ahead and Steph and her dad shared a tear-jerking father-daughter moment before heading off to get hitched!
The Ceremony:
Steph and Bertie had been waiting for this very moment for such a long time. The Plough Inn had been converted to the perfect ceremony hall and was decked out with hundreds of fairy lights and foliage was draped left, right and centre. The sunlight was streaming through the windows and highlighting the gorgeous wooden beams that made up the interior of the venue.
Hand in hand, they said their vows and sealed their marriage with a kiss. Friends and family cheered as they walked back up the aisle as Mr and Mrs and they all filtered outside to throw confetti and capture some treasured family photos. Their photographer Jess Yarwood was definitely the right woman for the job!
The Venue:
Their ceremony space had been magically transformed and was now filled with wedding breakfast tables, decorated with earthy and natural items such as wooden plinths and jars full of daisies. Their simple, rustic decor complemented the wooden beams of the venue and in turn, made the whole hall feel very intimate and welcoming.
Steph and Bertie opted for a sweet stall – because who wouldn’t! They also had a feature table with a minimalist white postbox for cards and a “sign our photograph” station to act as their guest book for their big day.
The Evening Reception:
Now it’s time to party! The evening reception is where the fun begins and continues into the small hours. Steph and Bertie took to the dance floor for their first dance and, can we just say, they look amazing!
Entertainment wise, they booked a corker of a band – Jumpin Joe and The Dominoes. This rockin’ n rollin’ 4-piece band bring the life and soul of the party with their unrivalled energy and their show-stopping talent.
The band are a through and through rock’n’roll masterpiece with years of professional experience and a repertoire that packs an almighty punch. Whilst their repertoire is vintage in style, the twists and jives that they whip up on the dance floor are timeless.
We think the next flurry of amazing photos really show how much fun Steph, Bertie and their guests had!
Steph & Bertie’s Review of Jumpin Joe and The Dominoes:
“Jumpin Joe and The Dominoes were absolutely excellent and even surpassed our already high expectations from having seen their YouTube videos. They were the absolute heart and soul of the evening and they had our little dance floor pretty much packed throughout both of their sets.
I would highly recommend them not only for the quality of their musicianship and stage presence but also, it turns out, Rock ‘n’ Roll really is a crowd-pleaser for all ages. We had endless comments from our guests saying what a great choice of genre it was, even if they previously didn’t have much interest in it, and, probably most importantly, how easy it is to dance to!
With regards to a “star rating” we’d give them an easy 5/5.”- Steph & Bertie
