With a whole range of party hits, from old classics to the current charts, Groove On Down deliver a stunning show every time. Every song the band performs has an undeniably funky twist, making you and your guests quite literally “Groove On Down” to the dance floor. Their standard line up of vocals, guitar, bass, keys and drums can be expanded to cater for bigger functions by adding on even more exceptional musicians. There’s nothing this fantastic party band can’t do!
So without further ado, here is Groove On Down In The Spotlight!
Who are Groove On Down?
We’re a band with a fresh sound made by giving everyone’s party favourites our own unique soulful twist.
Which song is your favourite to perform?
We love performing our own arrangements of popular tunes. Our version of ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ sticks out. It’s always fun to see people react to the song in a completely different style and really get into it.
Here’s another popular song from the band’s repertoire: Clean Bandit’s Rather Be!
Out of the songs you’ve been asked to learn for a first dance, which is your favourite?
We’ve recently learnt ‘You’ve Got a Friend In Me’ from Toy Story. So many childhood memories!
One final song question, which is the song you can always rely on to fill the dance floor?
Amy Winehouse’s version of Valerie is guaranteed to go down well which is lucky because we still love playing it!

Do you get on with each other all of the time?
I would say we get on 99% of the time! We’re all good friends but spending so much time on the road with each other is bound to lead to a few disagreements, mostly involving people snoring when we stay overnight after a gig…
Who has the most annoying habit (and what is it)?
Our drummer (it’s always the drummers…) is very food focused. If he’s not well fed you know about it!
What’s the best thing about being in a band?
The best thing about being in a band is getting to do what we love as our job and share that with our clients. There’s not a lot that can beat that really.
… and what’s the worst?
It’s got to be the drives back after the gig. Driving back from Norwich to London at 2 am is not the best feeling but it’s always worth it.
What’s the weirdest thing that’s happened to you at a wedding?
A few months back the bride and groom crowd surfed during our set. It was epic!
The most important question: Buffet or Hog Roast?
Hog Roast all day. You know where you stand with a hog roast!
And for those who are keeping track… that’s 8-6 to Hog Roast!
Thank you so much to Groove On Down for giving us an insight into the life of one of the UK’s best function bands! 🙂
