Two wonderful people tied the knot and we thought you should hear ALL about it!
Fern and Will’s special day was one to daydream about for years to come. They made each and every aspect their own and tied it together with a sensational band at the end of the night! (***Spoiler alert… it was The Lightmen)
The love-struck pair were childhood sweethearts and it’s all led up to this big day – their wedding! We got in touch with them to find out more about the magical moments that they shared earlier this year.

How did you meet?
At secondary school.
How did you propose?
On a beach in Cornwall whilst watching the sunset.
How did you choose your venue?
We knew we wanted a barn and this was 15 minutes from our home. We chose The Kingscote Barn.
How did your wedding reflect you as a couple?
A very chilled vibe in the countryside.
Who joined you for your big day?
70 guests – friends and family.
Did you have a style or theme?
Rustic theme with natural colours.
How did you personalise your wedding?
The bride made everything from scratch – from the invitations, welcome sign, seating plan, centrepieces, place cards, décor etc.
Getting Ready:
The bridal party got ready in the luxurious dressing room at Kingscote Barn, complete with lightbulb mirrors, velvet spinning boutique chairs, a picture perfect floral backdrop and a lounge/kitchen area for the essentials on wedding day morning – all the snacks and all the bubbly!
Fern opted for a classic bun up-do with loose face-framing curls and natural make up. The dress… OH THE DRESS! It’s simple, elegant, lacey, figure-hugging and most importantly, it’s a frock you can dance in – but more of that later.
The flowers were also inkeeping with the natural theme, roses with lots of folliage and a simple white rose button hole for the boys! The bridesmaids wore a satin sage green gown – which by the way compliments everyone (they looked amazing), and the ushers had beige tweed suits with soft brown ties – with Will sporting a very handsome bow tie.
Ready as they’ll ever be, it was time to tie the knot!
The Ceremony:
A bright barn with minimalist decor was waiting for Fern and Will. Rustic-style wooden chairs and clusters of lit candles lined the aisle and two sheer white drapes framed the altar.
Exchanging vows in front of everyone they love, Fern and Will became Mr and Mrs Evans! Whoop whoop!
As they made their way back down the aisle they shared a kiss and a flutter of white rose petals surrounded them. What a fairy tale day so far – and it only gets better!

Evening Reception:
Fast forward to the evening reception. Fern and Will had a dance floor ready and waiting to be filled with the help of the amazing Lightmen!
Smiles and laughter filled the night – it’s fair to say that Mr and Mrs Evans’ night went off with a bang and everyone had the best time.
The Lightmen trio are a friendly, talented bunch who have been performing at weddings for many many years. They know how to get the crowd dancing, involve guests in their sets and how to personalise your wedding experience, after all, it’s about you guys!

What did your entertainment bring to the big day?
Everything and more! They were the highlight of our evening – they even got up family members who have never danced at weddings before!

No – the day was perfect!
Any funny moments?
When my husband and I completed a Dirty Dancing lift on the dance floor to Sweet Caroline – no practice, just improvised.
What tips do you have for other couples planning their wedding?
100% have a band for your wedding – a DJ set is just not the same.
And just like that, Fern and Will’s day drew to a close. What a beautiful day they had, and you can see from the smiles on their faces that they genuinely couldn’t be happier!
