Let’s take a dive into what Chris Springsteen has to say about his experience in the biz!
Who is Chris Springsteen?
“I’m a singer from Manchester who’s been performing professionally for over 10 years!”
Give us a wow fact about you!
“I’m booked for high-end clients quite often. I’ve also done a private performance for Cristiano Ronaldo & his family!”
What can a wedding couple/client expect when they book you?
“A musician who genuinely cares about making their wedding/event/party as perfect as it can be for them, and a performer who’s got more experience than most – so you couldn’t be in safer hands.”
Do you offer an optional extras?
“I’d say my duo, The State Lines Duo, is my main ‘optional extra’ – it’s like booking me for your evening entertainment & then dialling it up to 11.”
Which song is your favourite to perform?
“‘She’s Electric’ by Oasis is a favourite of mine.”
Which is the song you can always rely on to fill the dance floor?
“‘Proud Mary’ is pretty much guaranteed to get people dancing!”
Top requested song?
“Other than ‘Wonderwall’? Probably either ‘Mamma Mia’ or ‘Yellow’.”
Top choice for a first dance song?
“One of my absolute favourite first dance songs at the minute is ‘Beautiful Crazy’ by Luke Combs.”
Favourite sing a long song?
“‘Summer of 69’ – such a classic!”
What inspired you to be a musician?
“I started out as a drummer from the age of around 9-10, and it wasn’t until a singer fell ill at a school show when I was 15, leading to me giving it a go, that I realised I could sing – I also got attention from the girls for the first time ever, so I dropped the drum sticks, grabbed the guitar & never stopped singing!”
What’s the best thing about a being performer?
“When a crowd is super into it, singing & dancing – it’s incredible. I’ve been lucky enough to have sold out venues sing my own songs back to me & it’s absolutely unbelievable.”
… and what’s the worst?
“People knocking your microphone into your mouth when you’re singing! Not cool!”
Most memorable moment of your career as a performer?
“Performing to 70,000 people at Leeds Party in The Park alongside One Direction, Little Mix, Professor Green & loads more. Absolutely incredible & still the highlight of my career.”
Weirdest moment/thing that’s happened at a wedding/event?
“A bride asking if she could play a song – taking my guitar and being arguably one of the best singers I’ve ever seen!”
If you weren’t a performer, what would you be doing?
“I’d probably be teaching music I think. I’m too passionate about it to not have it in my life at all.”
Top tip for anyone booking wedding/party entertainment?
“Probably sounds obvious, but you need to give as much notice as possible. Whilst some musicians do this as a side job, a lot of us are full time, so we’re super busy – which is amazing, but it means you need to be looking at booking your favourite act quickly so you don’t lose your date!”
